---
Jeffery Allen Tobin is a political scientist and researcher with over two decades of experience analyzing the complex intersections of democracy, corruption, and migration in the Americas and beyond. He brings to PASA a sharp analytical lens, grounded in both rigorous academic training and extensive field research.
Tobin’s work centers on the institutional and strategic dynamics of democratic governance, particularly in hybrid regimes and fragile states. He is currently completing a Ph.D. in political science at Florida International University, where his dissertation explores the political economies of subnational authoritarianism in Latin America. He holds a master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and bachelor’s degrees in political science and journalism. His research has been published in academic journals and think tank platforms, and he has presented work to policymakers, academic audiences, and advocacy organizations alike.
As an advisor to PASA, Tobin provides strategic insight on political risk, democratic resilience, and the long-term implications of corruption and displacement trends across the Western Hemisphere.
