Emma Woods is a Washington, D.C. based foreign policy professional with expertise in international development, policy analysis, and strategic communications. She holds a Master’s in Global Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Security and Justice and Spanish from the University of Virginia. Her work focuses on Sino-Latin American relations and U.S. policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean, and she has published research on regional engagement and geostrategic competition. Emma currently serves as Chair of the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy’s Latin America Discussion Group and previously supported USAID-funded development finance and private sector engagement programs in South Asia and Africa.
